Registration of Interest 

Help deliver a flagship community facility for one of the Waikato District’s fastest-growing towns! 

Waikato District Council is taking the next exciting step toward creating a new Pookeno Community Hub and Library. 

This Registration of Interest (ROI) process will be used to identify and shortlist experienced construction contractors to participate in a closed Request for Tender (RFT) early next year. 

What’s in Scope? 

The main construction package includes: 

  • Building the new Pookeno Community Hub and Library. 

  • Completing external works, including carpark surfacing and accessways. 

  • Delivering landscaping and public realm improvements to create an inviting civic space. 

  • Working collaboratively with Council’s project and design teams to ensure a high-quality, efficient result. 

What We’re Looking For 

We’re seeking contractors who can demonstrate: 

  • Proven experience delivering public or community buildings of similar scale. 

  • Strong Health & Safety leadership and Zero Harm practices. 

  • Capacity to engage local subcontractors and contribute to regional employment. 

  • Robust governance, communication, and project management capability. 

  • Innovative and sustainable construction approaches that provide value and minimise risk.
