Business Networking Session

Focused on Parks & Open Spaces Maintenance Contract Opportunities

Meet. Connect. Collaborate.

Following the recent early market engagement session at Waikato District Council offices earlier this month, many businesses expressed interest in connecting further to discuss the Parks and Open Spaces Maintenance Contract (commencing August 2026) in more depth.

In response, the Waikato District Council Procurement and Takitini Waikato District Economic Development teams are hosting a follow-up business networking session at Council Chambers.

This session is designed for businesses to connect with each other — the Waikato District Council Open Spaces team will not be in attendance.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Meet other suppliers and potential subcontractors
  • Share capabilities and identify complementary services
  • Explore joint approaches to strengthen tender responses
  • Discuss innovative delivery models that make the most of shared resources and expertise

Scope of Contract Opportunity

The contract will cover the maintenance and improvement of parks, reserves, playgrounds, sportsgrounds, cemeteries, and shared spaces across the Waikato District — from Raglan to Tamahere, Ngaaruawaahia to Huntly, and Pookeno to Tuakau.

Who Should Attend?

  • Maintenance and landscaping businesses
  • Specialist service providers (e.g. sports turf, playgrounds, boat ramps)
  • Asset management and data service providers
  • Suppliers interested in forming or joining a consortium approach

Why Attend?

  • Build connections with like-minded businesses
  • Explore collaborative models to strengthen capability and coverage
