Cleaning services for Waikato District Council facilities 

Waikato District Council will shortly advertise a Request for Proposal (RFP) for two cleaning service contracts covering Council’s corporate offices, libraries, halls, and a range of public facilities across the district. 

These contracts will ensure the ongoing delivery of consistent, high-quality, and sustainable cleaning services that support the effective management and presentation of Council-owned facilities. 

What’s in Scope? 

Council is seeking to engage one or two suppliers to deliver: 

Corporate, Halls & Library Cleaning (Contract C00001193)

Routine and scheduled cleaning of 12 Council buildings, including offices, libraries, and community halls.

 Public Facilities Cleaning & Maintenance (Contract C00001194) 

Cleaning of 59 public toilets and changing rooms, 32 bus shelters, and 3 barbecues. 

Locking and unlocking of designated facilities. 

Minor maintenance and graffiti removal through cleaning or repainting. 

Suppliers may tender for one or both contract packages. 

What We’re Looking For 

Council is seeking suppliers who can demonstrate: 

  • Proven capability in large-scale cleaning and facility maintenance. 

  • Strong Health & Safety performance and valid SHE Prequalification (or equivalent). 

  • The capacity to service multiple sites across the district and respond promptly to reactive service requests. 

  • Use of environmentally sustainable cleaning products and practices. 

  • Effective quality control systems supported by technology and reporting. 

  • Well-trained staff and clear management processes.

Contract Details 

  • Term: 3 years, with two rights of renewal (3+2+2 years). 

  • Region: Waikato District. 

  • Procurement process: Open competitive tender via GETS. 

  • Contract start date: 2026 (following contract award and mobilisation period).
